The next day we were having breakfast with Mr. LaVerne at the hotel's restaurant. I pretended to be busy eating the bread and fruit I ordered, but I was listening to dad and mr. LaVerne talk.
"Hey Georg, why we in Dromanny?" I asked casually. Dad and his manager looked at each other.
"Excuse me, I need to use the bathroom." Mr. LaVerne said as he stood up and left.
"Ok, I want to be sincere with you." dad began. I put down the apricot slice I was nibbling on and listened.
"The orphanat where you lived was an illegal one. I didn't knew. Besides the fact that the orphanat wasn't authorized by the government, the manager didn't gave me some necessary papers to authorize and approve your adoption. I'm here to sign them and see if I have auhorization from the Childhood Ministery to take you back to Germany." he explained.
I kept silent, looking at the apricot and the toasts in my plate and moving them with my fork. I felt a ball curling in my throat and relief filling my backbone.
"I thought to come here was an excuse to me be back in orphanat." I said, still moving the apricot around the plate.
"I would never put you in adoption." dad assured me as he placed his hand in my arm.

We arrived to the orphanage. I almost felt like crying when I saw it. I mean, the last time I entered these wooden doors, I was only 8 years old and my Taki left us there. Me, Sarinne and my cousin. Of course, my cousin was way cuter and was adopted after a month of being in there. But I mean, my mom, the one who was supposed to love me, she just left me there and didn't came back again. I was trembling when I got down the bus with dad.
When we got to the office, Massani Laimm saw us.
"Why, hello mr. Listing! How are you?" she asked in german.
"Fine, fine. Ma'am, I need to sign some papers..." he kept on, but I wasn't listening anymore.
I walked through the hallway, looking at the children play. Between them was my cousin Obey. Right now he was my same age, but I doubted if he'd recognize me.

"Hey! That's Daehnnah!" Coco, one of the smallest boys exclaimed after the soccer game ended. All of the boys came running to where I was and asked me things all at once. Happily, I let them touch my hair and let them hug me. I hugged them back and called them. The older boys got near too, welcoming me by slapping my back affectively.
"Daehnnah! Daehnnah!" the girls nearby yelled as they ran where I was. I hugged them too. Both big and baby girls. Suddenly, I saw one face. One that was exactly alike to mine.
"Sarinne!" I yelled
"Daehnnah!" she exclaimed. I hugged her tightly, as if all were a dream.
"Did you miss me?" another voice asked. I turned around and saw Roscoe, standing there and smiling at me. I turned and hugged him. His arms encircled me.
At last I felt like home.
